Position: Group Supervisor

 

The Group Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Group Supervisor in operations of the classroom; implementing appropriate activities and supervising and coordinating the activities of classroom assistants, aides and volunteers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

​

Under the guidance of the Owner and Group Supervisor, the Assistant Group Supervisor shall:

  • Conduct the duties of the position in a manner that follows STEPPING STONES ACADEMY-READING (SSAR) mission, adheres to the employee handbook, and state regulations for Child Care Centers.

  • Report all concerns regarding children, program, and co-workers in a timely manner to the Center Director.

  • Establish and model appropriate classroom management skills and techniques.

  • Assist in the supervision of the classroom staff; ensure that all SSAR policies are followed, provide feedback.

  • Ensure the safety and well being of all children in the program through appropriate supervision and interaction.

  • Manage behaviors through positive guidance, re-direction, and conflict resolution. Follow a set of reasonable limits and consequences and follow through consistently.

  • Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child in your care.

  • Reporting progress/pictures of children to parents daily through the Brightwheel application.

  • Assist the Group Supervisor and Director in carrying out activities related to ensuring and measuring outcomes for children, parents, and staff.

  • Participate fully in all academy activities, including, but not limited to swimming, field trips, and meal service and clean up.

  • Assist children while in the restroom/potty needs. 

  • Maintain an orderly arrangement and appearance of the classroom, center and program areas utilized by properly cleaning toys, sweeping, mopping, dishes and washing tables. Provide proper care of equipment, space and materials. 

  • Ensure all children are wearing their mask

  • Ensure children’s temperatures are taken upon arrival and prior to lunch.

  • Adhere to groups schedules ensuring ratios are correct.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of children’s information.

  • Assist in maintaining and submitting in a timely manner all program records such as, meal counts, attendance, time sheets, etc.

  • Assist in maintaining anecdotal records for portfolios.

  • Attend staff meetings, training, and other opportunities for professional development.

  • Assist the Academy with other duties required to provide quality child care in accordance with program goals.

  • Other duties as required.

Hours:

​

Part-time

Monday - Friday

20 to 30 hours a week

$9.00 - $16.00 (experience and education)

Academy Aide  Responsibilities

 

  • Greet children

  • Monitor classroom activities ensuring the safety and well being of children

  • Assist in the preparation of activities

  • Assist in preparing snacks, lunch and actively monitor children during nap time

  • Encourage strong language development

  • Attend required meetings and trainings

  • Respect and uphold confidentiality of enrolles

  • Must be able to relate to children 

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (Required)

  • 1 year of experience (Preferred)

  • Be a team player

  • 18 years or older

  • Must be able to carry 30 pounds or more

  • Other duties as required


Hours:

Part-time

Monday - Friday

20 to 30 hours a week

$8.00 - $15.00 (experience and education)

Driver Responsibilities

 

  • Greet children

  • Safely drive children to and from school

  • Maintain driving and gas log

  • Cleaning and fueling vehicle

​

Age required: 24 years of age

Clean Driving Record

​

​

Part-time

Monday - Friday

5 to 10 hours a week

$8.00 - $15.00 (experience and education)

* Can also be part of the day staff inside the academy.
